Love is All

My review card features the new Word Art "Love is All You Need"  I immediately thought of A Couple of Moodies and how great this sentiment would look with them.  For all that sparkle, I ran my paper die-cut through my xyron to coat it with adhesive.  Then I just stuck the circle in the middle and covered the rest with glitter - easy-peasy!

Walking in the Clouds

Bunny Love

I dusted off my chalk pastels to color Billy and Bianca. My first stamping purchase ever was a black ink pad, white paper, a teddy bear set and chalk pastels. I used them to color all my cards for a long time as I slowly built up my collection of ink pads, markers, pencils, etc. It was fun to go back to my stamping roots with this card today. {grin}

I chose a sentiment from Hugs and Kisses. It just seemed to fit these love bunnies so perfectly! I love the font and I colored the heart with red chalk too.

Moody for Computers

Today I have a couple of cards using Moody for Computers to share with you. Paper Makeup Stamps is reviewing all of the new stamps that were just released on the 7th. I was inspired by this card created by one of our Senior Makeup Artists, Shaela Odd. I love how she colored Moody for Art in monochromatic tones and added color to the background. It just makes my heart go pitter-patter! {grin}


On this first card I stamped Moody for Computers on Gina K. Pure Luxury White cardstock and used Copic Markers N0, N2, N4, N6, N8 to color her in. The designer paper is from the Sakura Park line by Kaisercraft. I didn't have any red flowers, so I colored a white fabric flower with a red copic marker. I used one of the simple sentiments from Paper Makeup Stamps, I'm so happy you're my friend. I have so many on-line friends that I've never had the privilege of meeting in real life yet. This image just makes me think of them and how happy I am to have met them through the computer. {smile}


On my second card, I wanted to try using the same markers on vanilla cardstock instead of white. I think it gives the image a little more softer and warmer feel to it, but it's a very subtle difference. I have a few cyber friends and faraway friends who are going through hard times right now. Even though I can't be there in person and give any of them a big hug, I can check up on them and send encouraging notes through my computer. That means so much to me. With that in mind, this sentiment from When There's Nothing Left to Say was the perfect choice.

I think using vellum shapes behind Moody for Computers and the saying gives a nice subtle shadow to them. And it fits in perfectly with the Makeup 4 the Weekend challenge to use vellum on your projects this week! {hint, hint} I like how it looks like she's in the glow of her computer screen in the midst of all those city buildings. That fabulous paper is from Basic Grey Wander.

Sketch Saturday - Week #120

Today is another Release in Review day at Paper Makeup Stamps. My card features the sweet Hugging Fairies with one of the sayings from the new Little Moments set. The designer papers are from the Echo Park Life is Good Mini Kit. I cropped the image in a square to better fit this week's sketch from Sketch Saturday.

Puddle-Jumping Seth

Today at Paper Makeup Stamps we are doing a review of the fairies from the August release. Be sure to check out the other fairy cards the makeup artists have made today too! On my card I have a puddle-jumping boy fairy named Seth. I think he and his sister fairy named Leigh are just so adorable! They both remind me of my niece and nephew who love to go puddle jumping after a good rain. I already know I'll have to make a matching Leigh card and drop them in the mail to my niece and nephew soon. {wink} I am also entering this card in the Stamptacular Sunday Challenge #71 - Snips and Snails and Puppy Dog Tails.

I colored Seth with prismacolor pencils and baby oil. His wings and the splashing water are coated with stickles - I just {heart} the sparkle that gives! I had this idea that if I cut him out using the largest 'Egg' nestie that it could look like a big drop of water instead. What do you think? Then I inked up a sizzix Summer Fun embossing folder with Pacific Point ink before dry embossing the light blue background. That puts ink into all the cracks of the pattern and I like the watery effect.

Scentsational Perfume

My review card for you today features the beautiful old-fashioned perfume bottle from Scentsational Perfume and one of the two sentiments that comes with it. I love this quote about happiness by Emerson - it's just so true!

I embossed the perfume bottle in copper on the pink paisley paper. I used glitter spica pens to color the top and pump of the bottle. The sentiment is also embossed in copper and I used a copper marker on the edges of the panels and for the faux stitching. The two-tone ribbon is from May Arts and the pearl flowers are from Basic Grey.
