Milk Carton Challenge
Flutter By Wednesday #94
Limited Supply Challenge LSC257
Ah, it feels so good to have created something this week. {grin} Even if there isn't a bit of stamping on it! haha This is a busier time of year for me than even Christmas! Teacher Appreciation Week, Room Mom stuff, Financial Statements for church, my son's birthday, Valentine Parties to plan for and on and on. It's all good stuff and I'm not complaining, but paper crafting tends to go by the wayside for me these few weeks every year.
Dawn Mercedes asked me to make a sample for her Limited Supply Challenge this week which is to make a milk carton. I followed Beate's tutorial on Splitcoast. It was the perfect excuse to pull out my brand spankin' new Scor-Pal that I ordered with Christmas money (thanks Mom & Dad!). I love how easy it was to square the paper up and score, score, score it in all the right places. {heart}
I know this is the perfect time of year to be making Valentine treat boxes, but I'm just burnt out on all things holiday right now. Any holiday! I love spring and look forward to all it brings, so that's the direction I went. I used designer paper from SU!'s Cottage Wall pack covering the front and back with dotted green and the sides with swirly razzleberry. I used SU! punches for the oval, butterfly and scalloped top. I could see doing something similar and making this a birdhouse another time.
I used a rub-on for the word 'Friend'. Clean and simple and ready to be filled with treats and gifted to a friend when the perfect occasion presents itself. {smile}
Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!

Snow Friends
Motivate Me Monday - Let It Snow Theme
The Sweet Stop - Sketch 38
Today's card uses the stamp set Snow Friends from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps (SNSS). Aren't these snowmen just the cutest? And there are a lot of sweet sayings and snowflakes that come with them. Such an adorable set! {grin}
I created a mask for the snowmen and heart so that I could sponge the fading blue background behind them. Then I used a white paint pen to add the look of snow falling all around them. Coloring was done with a blender pen and ink. I covered the ground with dazzling diamonds glitter for sparkly snow and the heart with a clear glaze pen for a nice shine.
I used a couple of the snowflake stamps to make the larger background. I tapped off the ink on scrap paper before stamping to give the snowflakes a softer look. The popped off snowflakes were cut out with some nesties and traced with a sakura glitter pen. I just love how they sparkle!
Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!
