Holly, Jolly Christmas

This week the Digi Makeover Challenge at Paper Makeup Stamps has a festive color challenge for you - perfect for the week before Christmas and those last minute cards and tags!  {wink}  Think Red, Dark Green, Light Green and Gray/Silver.

Once again, I re-colored one of the sentiments from Season's Greetings in the paint.net program.  It's great, because once I save a colored version, I can print it out as many times as I want.  I find it easiest to add my saved image to a new Word document and position it there for printing.

Be sure to check out the PMS Blog for info on the big rubber closeout sale going on now.  Paper Makeup Stamps is switching to all digi very soon and selling off the rubber stamp inventory.  Who wouldn't like some extra stamps in their stocking?!

As always, thanks for the visit and I hope to see your entry in our Digi Makeover Color Challenge this week!

Merry & Bright

It's time for some paper piecing at the Digi Makeover Challenge by Paper Makeup Stamps.  I enlarged the stocking from Color It Winter Tags and pieced it with some retired SU! papers.  The digi saying is from the Season's Greetings set.  I colored some of the words in Paint.NET before sizing it up and positioning it in a Word document to print it just where I would want it on my cardstock.

Thanks for dropping by!  I hope you'll play along with us this week and link up your paper-pieced digi creations at the PMS Blog!  {wink}

Warm Winter Wishes

I have a fun card and some December news to share.  {grin}  First off, Paper Makeup Stamps is celebrating winter with a Blog Hop today.  Be sure to start at the PMS Blog, so you catch all the latest announcements and don't forget about the Rubber Clearance Sale going on right now.  Then hop along with us and enjoy some fabulous winter cards by the Makeup Artists.  For your convenience, a hop list is at the end of this post.

Secondly, Flutterby Wednesday is having one {BIG} open challenge for the {ENTIRE} rest of December.  You can play along and  link your creations as often as you like this month, until midnight PST on December 31st.  And you never know - there just might be a prize in there somewhere this month too.  {wink}  Just remember to include a butterfly, fairy or angel on all your creations.

Now for my card today, I could not wait to try the Herringbone pattern that Beate posted on Splitcoast.  So fun and easy!  I want to make more in lots of different color schemes!  {lol}  Winter makes me think of hot cocoa - yum!  I've paired a sentiment from Snow Happy with the Beautiful Day fairy named Cosette.

Cut It Out

This week at the Digi Makeover Challenge by Paper Makeup Stamps we want you to "Cut It Out"!  Find your scissors and cut out your digi images for some dimension on your creations!  {wink}

I've used the lighthouse image and matching sentiment from Sailing By.  I chose to enlarge them both before printing so they would really stand out on my card.  The lighthouse is colored simply with copics and popped up on dimensionals.

Thanks for the visit and be sure to check out the PMS Blog for all the pretty samples by the Digi Artists, as well as the entry details for the challenge!

A Flutterby Recipe

This week we have a recipe for you to follow at Flutterby Wednesday.  And just wait until you see all the creations "cooked up" by the FBW design team - yum!  You can check out their links in my sidebar.  {wink}

And here's the recipe: the color blue, lace, at least 3 flowers and at least one butterfly.  Obviously, I've used some blue paper and I colored my lace blue to match with a B23 copic marker.  The flowers and pearls are from SU!'s retired Paper Pretties kit - again I colored the pearl centers with a Y35 copic marker.  Love being able to color accesories to match!  :)  And of course, my favorite Martha Stewart butterfly punch to the rescue for adding a couple sweet butterflies to my card.

Now isn't that Thankful Tommy Turtle from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps cute?  And the best thing is his digi image came pre-colored - what a blessing this busy, busy week. {grin}  I followed the sketch from The Sweet Stop and the theme for Sweet 'n Sassy's Digi Challenge is favorite things.  Flowers and butterflies have long been favorites of mine, as well as cute critters like this turtle!

Twenty Years from now

This week the Digi Makeover team from Paper Makeup Stamps is featuring a color challenge.  Be sure to check out all the yummy creations from our Makeup Artists on the PMS Blog!  {wink}

My favorite thing about using a digi stamp is being able to size it large or small. I printed this inspiring Twenty Years From Now  quote large enough to fill most of my card design.  Such a great way to make some Word Art the focal point of your card.   {grin}

Thanks for the visit and I wish you all the beary best

Tree Background

Welcome back!  This week the Digi Makeover Challenge from Paper Makeup Stamps is to create your own background using digi stamps.

I decided to take the Twisty Tree digi and size it large to fill up my card's background.  I colored it brown and orange on the computer and overlaid the Like Branches digi word art on it.  I printed it twice, so I could highlight the saying to make it stand out more.

There are lots of wonderful examples of digi backgrounds created by the Digi Makeup Artists on the PMS Blog - be sure to take a peek!

Pete the Penguin

Have you met Pete the Penguin yet?  He's part of the new release from Paper Makeup Stamps available in digi or rubber.  I just love his long scarf and little heart tatoo. {grin}  And his mug makes me want a cup of hot cocoa!

There is a lot more to see at the PMS Blog.  Plenty of creations from the November Release and challenges you can play in with prizes to be won!

Fluttery Thoughts

Flutterby Wednesday this week is celebrating Friendship, along with butterflies, fairies and angels.  My favorite card for a friend is one that isn't for any particular occasion.  It just lets her know you're thinking of her.

I used a previous sketch from The Sweet Stop and that pretty butterfly is from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Everyday Miracles set.  The words are from their Thoughts of You set.

Be sure to check out all the fabulous friendship cards from the Flutterby Team on my sidebar and also from our talented guest designer, Leanne

Hoppin' with PMS

Paper Makeup Stamps is celebrating its November Release with a Blog Hop today!  You should have arrived here from the terrifically talented Tangii's Blog (don't you love alliteration?!).  If you didn't, you'll want to start at the PMS Blog so you don't miss any of the incredible inspiration along the way!

The Digi Makeover Artists are joining today's Release Hop too.  This week's challenge is to make any shape card except square with your digi images.  I die-cut two jumbo scallop circles and folded a flap down on the back one, so I could attach it to the front one as a card-back.  Love how that method keeps the face of the card intact as a circle without a fold-line showing.  {grin}

I used several elements from the Digi version of the new release Color It Winter Tags.  I shrunk down the size of the tag and added the holiday sentiment and snowman to it.  If you saw yesterday's sneak peek, you know I just HAD to have a pair of hands for that card - well I felt the same way about these mittens!  It's so easy to flip an image and get that right-handed mitten I wanted.  {wink}  I paper-pieced the mittens and the snowman.

Oh, and that sparkly background is so easy to do if you have a Xyron.  I covered the white circle with adhesive, placed my tag and mittens where I wanted them and sprinkled the rest with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.  Instant sparkly background, and you can do that on any color paper you want for lots of glittery variety.

Don't forget to come by the PMS Forum tonight between 9pm-11pm EST for our Release Party when the stamps go live in the store.  And make sure you check out and comment on ALL THREE Sneak Peek posts on the PMS Blog first.  Winners will be drawn from every day's comments for free stamps at tonight's party!  {nudge, nudge, wink, wink}

I'm so glad you stopped by for a visit today!  The next stop on today's hop is the always amazing Andrea's Blog

Other Challenges Entered:

Itty Bitty Hands

Today is the last day of sneak peeks for Paper Makeup Stamps November Release.  Be sure to stop by the PMS Blog and check out ALL the peeks from this week there - AND read each post carefully to learn how you can win some free stamps!  {wink}

Today we are previewing the Handmade Set.  It will be sold in both rubber and digi versions and I've actually used both on my card!  I used the rubber stamp of the crayon to create a colorful background.

Then there's only one handprint in the set, but I wanted a pair of hands.  That's where a digi stamp is so great!  I just saved a flipped version of the hand, put them together and re-colored them blue.  There are lots of sentiments in this set, so I picked the digi version of the one I wanted to use.  That way I could re-size it and place it as close to the pair of hands as I wanted to - plus I'm sure it's on there straight!  {lol}

* Don't Forget on November 7th*
Blog Hop starting 7am EST at the PMS Blog
Release Party starting 9pm EST at the PMS Forum

Fluttery Thanks

This week at Flutterby Wednesday we are celebrating the theme of Gratitude and Thankfulness, along with your butterfly, fairy or angel on your creation.

I am very thankful that our power was restored Tuesday night.  How nice to have lights and heat and running water again.  And I'll be thankful today when I catch up on my "Cinderella Chores" as Danni likes to call them.  Never thought washing dishes, doing loads of laundry and vacuuming could bring a smile to my face.  I wish I was good at whistling - guess I'll have to hum through my work instead.  {grin}

I'm not very good at creating cards in the cold by flashlight, so I have one of my favorite "oldie but goodie" cards to show you.  Penelope was one of the very first fairy stamps I ever bought.  I love her name and oriental charm.  This is a pocket card with the "thank you" panel tucked inside.

Thanks for fluttering by today!  Be sure to take a peek at all the Thankful Creations by the rest of the Flutterby Team - links can be found on my sidebar or at the FBW Blog!

With Gratitude

I'm trying to have a grateful attitude like Webster here.  He's from the Retro Cutie Critter Collection and will be added as a digi to the PMS store soon!  I flipped the digi and omitted the gift that he was holding for my card.  The Digi Makeover Challenge at Paper Makeup Stamps is to use this sketch this week.

I live in the northeast and we got hit by that freak snowstorm that barrelled through on Saturday.  Five inches of heavy, wet snow fell on trees whose leaves had not dropped off yet for fall, much less changed to pretty fall colors yet even!  And these beautiful trees could not bear all that sudden, extra weight on them.  Many branches and trees snapped and fell and took down power lines with them.  My neighborhood has been without power for 2 days now, and predictions are it won't be restored until end of the week.  Our house is down to a chilly 51 degrees today.

So, what can I be thankful for?  I'm thankful my family is safe and together.  I'm thankful for the public library where I am at today so I can use my laptop to check in with family, friends and you on this blog post!  {grin}  I'm thankful that the temperatures, while chilly, are not freezing, so our house pipes won't burst while we wait for our power to be restored and we can heat our home again.  I'm thankful that nearby grocery stores and restaurants have power, so we can get daily food.  It's a bummer that I have to throw out food from my fridge and freezer that I just bought last Friday - seems like such a waste, but I'm thankful we can afford to stock it up again when the electricity returns.  I'm thankful my boys have such great attitudes about our "adventure" - we've played lots of board games by flashlight this week while all bundled up at our table.  I'm thankful for warm pj's and blankets when we huddle together at night to sleep.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!  I hope to be back again soon!

Blessings,

Just Saying Hello!

This week at Flutterby Wednesday, we want you to use Halloween colors like orange, green, purple and black on your creations with your butterfly, fairy or angel!

I stamped this big butterfly from a retired SU! set called Wonderful Wings on a piece of glossy cardstock with stazon black ink.  Then I used some q-tip shaped foam daubers and swirled ink on and around the image.  Kind of reminds me of a finger painting - I like the swirly look!  :)

Thanks for fluttering by and be sure to check out the rest of the FBW team's creations - you can find their links in my sidebar.  {wink}

Fall Presents

This week we have some fall colors for the Digi Makeover Challenge at Paper Makeup Stamps.  October is full of birthdays around here, so I used Lars' Presents on my card with the latest SCS Sketch Challenge

Remember, if you create a card with a digi image and these colors, then link it at the PMS Blog, you'll be in the running for some free PMS digi images!

Spotlight on Ally

We have a technique for you to use with your Digi Makeover Challenge this week - Spotlighting!  Check out the fabulous samples the Digi Makeup Artists created - love all the new ideas.  {wink}

I used the digi versiong of Ally from the Beautiful Day Fairies collection.  She'll be added to the PMS store soon, so be on the lookout for her!  My niece loves tea parties and this stamp always makes me think of her.  {grin}

And this is another card for Splitcoaststampers Hope You Can Cling To - Challenge HYCCT1111 Fight Like a Girl.

Flutterby Quilt

This week at Flutterby Wednesday we want to see you use your scraps on your creations ~ along with your butterfly, fairy or angel.  I fished around my scrap bin and pulled out some pieces of pink papers that I had used on this card in February.

I punched out some 1-inch squares to keep them all even-sized and some small butterflies from one of my many scraps of white cardstock.  Even the pink layer that I laid out the pieces on and the burgundy half sheet for my card base were in my scrap box.  {grin}  I really should reach for cut up pieces of paper more and get them used!

The saying is from the Little Moments set by Paper Makeup Stamps.  I'm also entering this card into the Hope You Can Cling To challenge at SCS Things are Looking Up

Thanks for fluttering by and I hope you are inspired to use up some of your scraps on your next creation!

Stamps: Little Moments by Paper Makeup Stamps
Paper: Baroque Burgundy, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White, Basic Grey Eva and Sugar Rush
Ink: Baroque Burgundy

Accessories: Circle Punches, Square Punch, Ribbon, SU! Embossing Folder, MS Butterfly Punch

Peek-a-Boo Box

We're back with another fun Digi Makeover Challenge from Paper Makeup Stamps.  This time we want to see you use your digi image on anything but a card.  It could be a scrapbook page, a bookmark, a doorhanger, a notebook, a tag, a treat box like I've done - there are so many possibilities!

I've always wanted to try one of these Peek-a-Boo boxes that I've seen on Splitcoast.  It came together pretty easily and I love the little window that gives you a peek of the treat inside.  {grin}  And I love that I can take a big image like the Twisty Tree and size it way down to fit on a little box like this!

Stamps: Twisty Tree Digi and sentiment from Color It Autumn by Paper Makeup Stamps
Paper: Cranberry Crisp, Neenah Solar White, SU! DP
Ink: Printer, Cranberry Crisp
Accessories: Prismacolor Pencils, 1-1/2" Circle Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, Word Window Punch, Modern Label Punch, Clear Acetate Sheet, Scor-Pal, Terrifically Tacky Tape
