Birthday Candy

Happy Birthday to Me! {grin}

It's my birthday and I've decided that the perfect way to celebrate is to post my first ever blog candy. I love to give gifts and I think this will be lots of fun! These are some of my favorite things and here's a list of what's included.

1. Melody fairy stamp by Paper Makeup Stamps - This is MY fairy! I won a contest a few months ago to design and name any kind of fairy that I wanted and this sweet Melody stamp is the result of that. LOVE her! :)
2. White Opal Liquid Pearls - Great for adding pearl dots and flower centers.
3. Ruby Slippers Stickles - Red is my favorite color!
4. Sakura Stardust Pens - I love how sparkly these are and use them all the time.
5. Basic Grey Rhinestones - Gotta love bling!
6. Basic Grey June Bug paper pad - Love BG paper too!
7. Pack of Citrus buttons - Fun colors for spring and summer
8. Red Rick Rack - In my favorite color again
9. Cuttlebug Leafy Branch embossing folder - Love using my bug to add texture to my cards too

Here's what you've gotta do to be in it to win it!

1. Leave a comment about a favorite gift you've given someone
2. Become a follower, or let me know you already are
3. For a second entry, post the picture of my blog candy somewhere on your blog and let me know that you did.
4. Deadline is 6pm EDT, Wednesday, May 5th. Winner will be posted on May 6th.

Thanks for celebrating with me and have a blessed day!

Flutterby Danni

Flutter By Wednesday - #106 Sketch by Mercy
Makeup 4 the Weekend - M4TW25 Rainbow Colors

Today's card features the Paper Makeup fairy named Danni. When I saw that the PMS challenge this week was to use all the colors of the rainbow, I immediately thought this would be the perfect stamp for it. I love how Danni likes to use bright colors on her cards and this fairy is named after her. And of course it perfectly fit the sketch from Danni's Flutter By Wednesdays challenge blog too. {grin} I love it when the idea for a card comes together like that.

After I colored and outlined her with copics, I covered the butterflies, her wings and hair with spica glitter pens. I wish the camera picked up the sparkle she has, but you have to zoom way in to get even a glimpse of it. I decided not to add a sentiment yet - sometimes I like to wait so I can still use the card for any occasion as they come up.

Thanks for looking. Come back tomorrow and celebrate my birthday with me as I post my first blog candy. {wink}

Have a blessed day!

Eagle Watching

Wow, I can hardly believe it's been a month since I posted here. I've just let time slip through my fingers, but it's been time well spent. It started with my son's school play approaching. I have my craft stuff all set up in the guest room and a few times a year, I need to pack everything up and allow the guest room to be used as a guest room, haha. I thought it was going to be so hard to have everything put away for over a week, but I so enjoyed the time spent with family visiting and my son did an amazing performance in his play. I just couldn't have been prouder of him.

Then for the last couple of weeks, I've just been enjoying my own family and the beautiful weather we've been having. We've gone for bike rides, walks, played lots of games, shared ice cream treats, told stories, watched movies. And the spring cleaning bug has hit me too. My husband and I went through our room and came out with 7 bags of clothes to be donated! Why were we hoarding stuff we weren't using for sooooo long! And what a liberating feeling! So now I've been going through the attic and giving away stuff from there. And I've even been going through my stacks and stacks of stamps and sharing sets with a couple teachers from my boys' school who are new to stamping. I have over 10 years worth of stuff with many old favorites just not seeing the light of day anymore. What joy to pass them on to new stampers!

Eagle Cam

And if you enjoy watching nature, here's an Eagle Cam link that my family has been checking a few times every day. There are two eaglets in the nest and we've seen them grow from tiny fluffy things to bigger fluffy things. {grin} They're moving around the nest a lot more now. We've seen both parents in the nest ripping up their catch and feeding the eaglets. One rainy day, it was touching to see my boys appreciate how the parent eagle sat over her babies and protected them while taking the brunt of the storm on herself.

Thanks for stopping by and listening to me ramble. I hope to start posting cards again this week and think I'll organize my first blog candy too as a way to celebrate my upcoming birthday. {wink}

Have a blessed day!
