This week at Flutterby Wednesday we want to see your buttons AND bows on your creations!  You must have both along with your butterfly, fairy or angel.  Can't wait to see what you come up with!  {wink}

These delightful butterflies are from Kitchen Sink Stamps and I brayered a pastel background for them.  Wish my camera would pick up lighter tones better, but you can kinda get the idea.

Hello Sunshine!

Splitcoast Queen for a Day - QFTD53 K Dunbrook
Splitcoast Clean and Simple - CAS111 sketch
Splitcoast Free 4 All - F4A57 Inspired by the Sun
Splitcoast Inspiration - IC277 Ruche

As you can see, this card was inspired by a few Splitcoast Challenges.  {grin}  I've had the CAS sketch on my mind all week, I've just flipped it upside down for my purposes.  Then I was struck by a few yellow cards in the SCS gallery from the Queen for a Day challenge.  I have to say that yellow is usually the last color I would reach for, but today I have found it cheery and attractive!  {LOL}  So, of course, when I checked out the Inspiration challenge this Marigold Ring stood out to me.  And how could I not include the Free 4 All challenge when sunny yellow fits it so perfectly!  {wink}

This week's "Queen for a Day" is Queen Karen, otherwise known as "k dunbrook" on Splitcoast.  Her gallery is full of bright and cheery cards - love it!  I was inspired by Golden Flowers.  I love her yellow background and how she double matted her yellow flowers with black and white layers.  And her sentiment has to do with "sunshine" - perfect!  {grin}

My flower is from the Color It Summer set by Paper Makeup Stamps.  I've colored and outlined it simply with copic markers.  I also went over the petals and leaves with a clear spica glitter pen for some sparkle {that my camera apparently cannot see}.  Hello Sunshine! is one of the many simple sentiments that you can find in the PMS store

Thanks for the visit and I wish you a Sunny Day!

Framed Bluebonnets

Flutterby Wednesday - FBW147 Open Challenge
Color Throwdown - CTD134
Kitchen Sink Stamps - 10MC12

This week Flutterby Wednesday is hosting an open challenge.  Anything goes as long as you have a butterfly, fairy or angel on your creation.  I've been itching to ink up my Kitchen Sink Stamps and got my color recipe for these bluebonnets from a card by Lynn McAuley.  Then I followed the 10 Minute Challenge layout for this card and I've discovered that I really need more acrylic blocks, haha!  It takes time to keep switching stamps on the blocks when inking up all these layers.  I love the depth you get with the finished image though!  {grin}  I confess that this 10 Minute card really took closer to 30 minutes.

The shimmery blue cardstock is Sparkle Abysse from Paper Temptress.  I cut out a window with a Labels Ten Nestie and popped up the panel with dimensional tape.  The small "thanks" is from one of the freebie stamps that you get with any KSS order.

Thanks for fluttering by today!

JUGS with PMS

"Just Us Girls" - JUGS76 Color Challenge
SCS Sketch Challenge - SC324

How's that for a funny title?!  {LOL}  Paper Makeup Stamps (PMS) is sponsoring this week's challenge over at Just Us Girls (JUGS).   Our mutual design team member, Lisa Kind, chose the colors Baja Breeze, Soft Sky, So Saffron and Pink Pirouette.

I am so ready for Spring to officially arrive tomorrow that I just had to use one of the flowers from the new set Springtime Solids on my card.  And it's nearly impossible to see, but I filled in the white centers of every flower with a clear spica glitter pen - they are so shimmery in real life.

One lucky participant in the JUGS challenge will win a $20 gift certificate to the PMS Store.  Be sure to check out their blog for the rules and some lovely sample creations by their design team.  Then head on over to the PMS blog for more samples by the Makeup Artists!

Sketches by Carly - Sketch #26
SCS Clean and Simple - CAS110 Out of the Box
Sentimental Sundays - #46 Go Green
Creative Card Crew - Green
This week at Flutterby Wednesday we want to see you using the color green and/or Carly's Sketch #26 for your creation with a butterfly, fairy or angel.  I chose to combine the challenges on my card using Dandy Wishes from Paper Makeup Stamps.  I have used some yummy papers from Paper Temptress again - Basis Light Green and Emerald Metallic.  I love how sparkly the Metallic cardstock is!  And if you click on the photo for a close-up, you can see the stickles on the dandelions better.  {grin}  And here is my acrostic for the Raise the Bar G.R.E.E.N. challenge (isn't that a clever idea?!) Great sketch, Ribbon, Embossed panel, Emerald metallic paper, New stickles.

Thanks for fluttering by today and I hope you'll play along with Flutterby Wednesday this week!  {wink}

Just one of those days...

Splitcoast Clean and Simple - CAS109 Funnybone
Creative Card Crew - No Flowers

This week's CAS challenge at Splitcoast is Tickle Your Funnybone.  I had to use this new bunny image named "Foo" from Paper Makeup Stamps.  He just cracks me up. {giggle}  I love how confused he looks to see a fish floating by in one of his bubbles.  Wouldn't you be?  The sentiment "Just one of those days..." comes with him.

Thanks for the visit and I wish you all the beary best!

Daisy Silhouette

Flutterby Wednesday - FBW#145 Inspiration Photo
SCS Clean and Simple - Silhouette Card

This week we have an inspiration photo for our Flutterby Wednesday challenge to use with your butterfly, fairy or angel. Isn't that a gorgeous scene of daisies against the blue sky?  It reminded me of the Stampin' Up! set Upsy Daisy.  One of my son's teachers has been sick and in the hospital.  I had her in mind as I made this card and I plan to send it to her today.  I clear embossed the flowers on a piece of Sparkle Blanc cardstock, then brayered over them with my Blue Breeze Kaleidacolor ink pad.  I {heart} how the sparkle shows through the ink giving me a glittery blue sky.  I chose yellow for the butterflies and frame because of the yellow daisy centers in the photo.   I used Solar Yellow Pearlescent paper that has a wonderful pearly sheen and gives such an elegant touch in a simple way.  And finally, the sentiment is from Paper Makeup Stamps.

Thanks for fluttering by today and I hope you'll get inspired with us at Flutterby Wednesday this week!

Aurora's Dolly

Today is another Sneak Peek day at Paper Makeup Stamps for the March/April release and it is a Fairy Day!  I have used one of the coordinating stamps, Aurora's Dolly, who of course goes with Aurora!  Click here to go to the PMS Blog and see what the new fairies look like.  {wink}  And while you're there, be sure to leave a comment for a chance to win the entire release - yay!  Then the "You're Invited" sentiment is the freebie you can get this month with any order while supplies last - gotta love freebies!

My layout was inspired by a couple cards from the featured stamper's gallery at Splitcoast, Corie Foster, here and here.  I love how she cut a shape out of the panel off-center.  I am such a "everything's gotta be straight and balanced" kind of thinker, that a design like this jumps out at me.  {grin}

I am on a kick using Paper Temptress papers lately too!  I made a resolution to organize my overflowing stash of papers and I now have these set up in their own bin where they are so easy to look through and choose, instead of in a pile buried under my table.  How could I have treated such pretty papers that way for so long?!  Here I have some Amethyst Metallic and Laser Black Glossy Lustre.  Love the shimmer and sparkle they give to the card.  Aurora's Dolly herself is colored in with a blender pen and ink on Neenah Solar White.

I'm so glad you stopped by for a visit today!  Remember that we'll have our blog hop on Monday, March 7th starting at 7am EST where you can collect letters for a 15% discount code off the new release.  The stamps go live in the PMS store at 9pm EST when we have our release party in the PMS forum.  We'd love to have you join us for some fun chatter and games (and there's always talk about yummy food, so bring a snack too! - LOL)

Stamps: Aurora's Dolly and You're Invited by Paper Makeup Stamps

The Other Side

It is time to start some sneak peeks for the next Paper Makeup Stamps release on March 7th!  My card features a larger sized rainbow from the Rainbows & Raindrops Additions set and one of the new Word Art sayings.  I colored the rainbow with chalk pastels for some easy blending between colors and added some white flock to the clouds for some fuzzy texture.  {grin}  The raindrops on the Ruche paper are all sparkly from a Sakura stardust glitter pen.

Be sure to visit the PMS blog to see all the sneak peeks from the other Makeup Artists today and leave a comment there for a chance to win the entire March/April release!  Then come back tomorrow when I'll have another sneak peek ready to show you.  {wink}

Christie Angel

Flutterby Wednesday  - FBW144 Open Challenge

It's the first Wednesday of the month and that means we have a sponsor at Flutterby Wednesday!  This time our sponsor is Robyn's Fetish.  Be sure to check out the FBW blog for any prize information and use a butterfly, fairy or angel on your creation.

I have used the digi stamp Christie Angel on my card.  She strikes me as a rustic, country angel, so I used my rustic chalks to color her in.  {grin}  The designer paper is from SU! and I've had it a LONG time, haha.  I have used it - there's just a lot of it!

Thanks for fluttering by - now go get inky!  {wink}
