Chalk Butterfly

Flutterby Wednesday is hosting an Open Challenge this week - Anything Goes as long as your creation has a butterfly or a fairy on it!

I've been going through my old stamp sets lately and have one of the first techniques I learned on my card today too - the chalkboard technique.  I stamped the solid image of the butterfly with craft white ink on black cardstock.  After I gave it a few minutes to dry, I colored over it randomly with my chalk pastels before stamping the butterfly outline over it.  Then the sentiment is stamped directly onto the organdy ribbon.

Flowers in Bottles

It's Danni's 14th Anniversary, so we are celebrating all things love, wedding and anniversary along with your fairy or butterfly at Flutterby Wednesday!  We are also happy to announce A Day for Daisies is sponsoring this challenge ~ be sure to check out all the details on how to play along at Flutterby Wednesday.

I used the ADFD image called Flowers in Bottles - printing it twice, so I could fussy cut and pop up the image of the second one.  Sentiment is from the Hugs and Kisses set by Paper Makeup Stamps.

Script Butterfly

At Flutterby Wednesday this week,
we are looking for a sentiment on the front of your creation,
along with your butterfly or fairy!

For my card I used the negative cut from a SU! die
 as a stencil to sponge the butterfly and stamp a script design over it.

This is another favorite card from a recent stamp class.
Love the little pop of red from the heart and the classy pearls too!

That's where I found this adorable Frog Up and Away digi.

Easter Blessings - From the Heart

Today I found the most adorable images at From the Heart.  I noticed they have a weekly sketch challenge and a monthly stamp of the month challenge too, so I decided to play along with both!  {grin}

I used one of the baskets from the Spring Baskets set along with a partial sentiment from Elegant Easter Sentiments.

Fluttering with Tony Kitty

Flutterby Wednesday has an OPEN challenge this week - anything goes with a butterfly or fairy included.  It's also a sponsor week with Pattie's Creations - check out the FBW Blog for all the prize details!  {wink}

Pattie graciously provided images for the design team to use. I picked Tony Kitty Playing in Flowers and colored him simply in Paint.net.  Then I framed and sized him in Word before printing.

Thanks and Thanks

Flutterby Wednesday - #229 Lots of Layers
Digi Makeover Challenge - DM077 Stripes
SCS Sketch Challenge - SC425
Our Daily Bread - #144 Black & Cream
Crafty Catz - Dies & Punches

It seems I'm always in need of more thank you cards!  I like this word art from Everyday Thanks at Paper Makeup Stamps.  Because it's a digi image, I could give it a little shadow effect in Word before printing it on some designer paper by Fancy Pants from their Country Boutique collection.  Actually, all the patterned paper on this card is from that same collection.

The Butterfly Border was cut with  a C.C. Designs Cutter die.  And of course I had to add lots of sparkle with some gems and my trusty stardust glitter pen!

Fluttering with Stamp Fairy

It's the first Wednesday of the month which means Flutterby Wednesday has a sponsor this week - Stamp Fairy!  And it's super easy to play along with us for a chance at their generous $10 gift certificate because it's an OPEN challenge ~ Just have a butterfly or fairy on your creation and link up at Flutterby Wednesday!

I have used the adorable Molly Fairy on my card along with the freebie sentiment that you can find with her in the Stamp Fairy store.

I colored both digis in Paint.net and then sized and placed them together in a Word document.  You can add diffierent kinds of text boxes around your images in Word, so I chose one for the saying to make it look like Molly is sitting on a box.  Of course, I had to add some stickles and bling for the sparkle that you need in a magical birthday!  Oh - and I'm really liking these stitched die-cuts that you can find at Lil' Inker Designs.

Thanks for fluttering by!  There are lots more beautiful Stamp Fairy creations to admire by my teamies at Flutterby Wednesday - go take a peek!

Retro Butterfly

This week's challenge at Flutterby Wednesday is an OPEN one - just make sure you have a butterfly or fairy on your creation!

My background was created by layering post-it notes and sponging the regal rose color, then removing a few and sponging the bashful blue color, then finally removing the last post-it notes and sponging apricot appeal in the remaining white areas.  The butterfly is sparkly embossed from SU!'s retired Wonderful Wings, colored to match and popped up in front.

Winter White

Flutterby Wednesday is looking for Winter White creations with your fairy or butterfly this week.  Your image may be colored - but everything else should be WHITE!

I used a Beautiful Butterflies die from Papertrey Ink to cut out a 'negative space' butterfly.  I backed it with a piece of shimmery white cardstock and filled in the body with gems.  The sentiment is from PTI's Beautiful Butterflies stamp set.  Getting all those little gems to underline it in a more or less straight line, probably was the hardest part of this card!  {lol}

Blossom Word Block

Flutterby Wednesday has an Open Challenge this week - anything goes as long as there is a butterfly or fairy on your creation!  We also would like to welcome Bugaboo Digi Stamps as this month's sponsor.  One lucky stamper will win 7 digis as a prize for fluttering along with us this week.

I love the new Blossom Word Block digi released this month at Bugaboo.  The flower and leaves are colored twice, with the second set cut out and popped up.  And I promise that ribbon matches better in real life - not sure why it looks so dull in the photo.  :)

Something New at Flutterby Wednesday

We're kicking off the New Year at Flutterby Wednesday with a challenge of "In with the New".   You can use something new on your creation or make it a "new" theme such as "new baby", "new house", etc.  Don't forget to have a butterfly or fairy on your project too!

I must have been a very good girl last year b/c I got a Silhouette Cameo for Christmas! {yay! thanks Mom!}  It's going to be so much fun learning how to use it.  I found this darling butterfly card template in the Silhouette America on-line store and it's the very first thing I cut out with my new machine.

I ran the white panel through my xyron to cover it with adhesive.  That made it super easy to stick behind the cut-out frame on the front of my card and then cover the rest in glitter for some lots of sparkly goodness!
