Be My Valentine

It's time for some Valentines at the Digi Makeover Challenge by Paper Makeup Stamps.  Just use a digi image to make a valentine and link it up at the PMS Blog.  If you use a PMS digi on your creation the prize gets bigger!  {wink}

I used the heart from the Handmade set with one of the sayings from Little Moments.  Sketch is from Card Patterns #150

Sanded Embossing

At Flutterby Wednesday this week, we want to see some embossing on your creation {along with your butterfly, fairy or angel}.  It can be any kind of embossing.

I've used an embossing folder called Playful Garden that I got from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design.  I embossed a piece of ColorCore cardstock and gently sanded the raised image to let some of the white show through.

I found the gorgeous gingham ribbon at Pizzazz Aplenty.  It's just stiff enough to tie a perfect bow on the first try - love it!  The the sentiment is a rub-on that I got from SU! a long time ago.

Thanks for fluttering by!  Be sure to check out the FBW Blog for more inspiration by our amazing team and then link up your own embossed fluttery creation there too.  {wink}

Winter Blues

The Digi Makeover Challenge at Paper Makeup Stamps is to use shades of BLUE with your digi image on your creation this week!  To play along, Read about it and Link up at the PMS Blog!

My hand is still healing from last week's injury, so I have a clean and simple card for you today!  And I am even more thankful for digi images that are easy to manipulate one-handed on the computer!  {lol}

I've used Baby Jamie Fairy Silhouette on my card with the word art A New Baby.  Notice anything?  Baby Jamie is missing his fairy wings!  While I enjoy many fairy images, not all my friends do.  It's super easy to open up the digi image in Paint and erase those wings - just like you could omit part of a rubber stamp image by using marker on just the sections you want to show.

I then used Paint.Net to change my silhouette from black to light blue, as well as vary the words in the quote with medium and dark blues.  I sized them both large and overlapped the words on the silhoutte a bit to help them be a big focal point on my card.  The sketch is a simplified version of  The Deconstructed Sketch #35.

Thanks for taking the time to visit today - it's always appreciated!  {grin}

Another Oldie & An Owie

Flutterby Wednesday has everyone's favorite challenge this week - OPEN - just remember your butterfly, fairy or angel on your creation and link up at the FBW Blog.  {wink}

I've had a little freak accident with my right hand and my middle finger is now in a splint for 10 days.  It seems I tore one of the tendons - and let me tell ya - it hurts!  I'm pretty slow at this one-handed typing stuff too.  Now the pain med is making me sleepy, so I'd better get to my card quick! {yawn}.

So - I'm featuring another of my favorite {oldie} cards that's never been on my blog before.  I actually made this one over 5 years ago for a challenge to copy a card from a SU! catalog using different colors.  I really like the blues and the cut-out, popped-up butterfly and flowers.

As always, thanks for the visit and I hope to see you again soon!  {grin}

A Fairy Nice Day

This week's Digi Makeover Challenge at Paper Makeup Stamps is easy-peasy!  We want to see fairy images on your creations!  Be sure to use a digi {it is a digi challenge after all} and link it up here to play along.

And don't forget that Paper Makeup Stamps has a wonderful collection of fairy stamps to choose from.  You can see all the available digi fairies here.  Plus there are still rubber fairy stamps that you can get for 60% off in the closeout sale with the discount code CLOSEOUT60.

Now for my card today - I used the Sprout Fairy Silhouette.  I absolutely love that I can print a digi silhouette fairy and have a SOLID image!  How many times have I tried to stamp silhouettes and they look blotchy, so I waste more paper trying to get a crisp filled-in image.  I also love that my digi word art is sized and positioned EXACTLY where I want it, and it's not crooked!  Here I used Plant Your Own Garden

Otherwise my card is pretty self-explanatory.  The fun sketch is from CCEE Stampers  and the papers are from Memory Box Minuet.

Be sure check out the PMS Blog for more fairy inspiration by the Digi Makeup Artists and all the prize details for playing along!  {wink}

Just Us Girls - JUGS118 Sketch
Our Daily Bread DesignsODBDSLC91 New & Old

This week at Flutterby Wednesday we are fighting the Winter Blahs with bright colors!   Just remember to include a butterfly, fairy or angel on your creation too!  {wink}

I just received my first ever order from Our Daily Bread Designs and absolutely {love} their stamps!  Deeply-etched, purple rubber stamps, pre-cut and mounted on cling cushion for you - and they even included a chocolate bar {yum!}  It's no secret that I love making butterfly cards and they have some fabulous butterfly stamps in their store.

I inked up the Grunge Butterfly Background with my brayer and Spectrum Kaleidacolor ink pad.  Then I rock-n-rolled the solid image from 2-Step Butterflies  and stamped a saying from the Faith set over it.

Following the sketch from this week's JUGS challenge made putting this card together a snap!  Add some glitter, ribbon and bling  from my {old} stash to my {new} stamps and I've got a card that I can't wait to share!

Thanks for fluttering by with a visit today.  I hope to see lots of your bright creations in the Flutterby Wednesday challenge this week!

Get Well Wishes

This week we're creating handmade Get Well Wishes for the Digi Makeover Challenge at Paper Makeup Stamps

I've used two new digis from the PMS January Release on my card:  Color Kid with Soup and Hope this Happy Get Well Note.  I love that I can size up and position the image and saying where I want them and just print!  Do you know how many times I've stamped my saying crooked or unevenly so only part of it showed up?!  Well, not with digis!

And it was so fun to use my new buttons, new gems and new designer paper too!  I've had the baker's twine for awhile so it's old, but I colored it with my copic marker to make it yellow & red instead of white & red.

In case you haven't heard the news, Paper Makeup Stamps is switching to digi images only.  The rubber closeout sale is happening right now and you can get 60% off  their rubber inventory by using the voucher code CLOSEOUT60 in your shopping cart.

Other Challenges Entered:
Card Patterns Sketch #147
Catered Crop - Buttons
The Squirrel and The Fox #8 - Something New
Card Makin' Mamas - Something New
Delicious Doodles #10 - All Things New
Fairy Tale Challenge #32 - Something New
The Poodle's Parlour - Button Up

A Flutterby Hop with Bugaboo

It's time for the first Flutterby Wednesday Challenge of the New Year - Happy 2012, everyone! Thanks so much to all of you who played along in our December Challenge - we loved seeing your creations. {grin}  We want to welcome four new members to the Flutterby Design Team - Karen, Leanne, Lynette and Suzanne - you're going to be wow'd by their work!

And to start off the new year with some fun inspiration for you, the Flutterby Team has put together a little blog hop for you.  You should have arrived here from the FBW Blog {you really need to check it out because there's a prize this week!}

We're starting off the year with an OPEN challenge - just remember to have a butterfly, fairy or angel on your creation.  {wink}  Our sponsor is Bugaboo Digi Stamps and I used their gorgeous Silhouette Butterfly on my card.  I couldn't resist printing it out in black and filling in all the details with bright colors.  I fussy cut it and pinched the wings a bit before taping it over another print of the butterfly on DP.  I totally {love} the dimension that creates!  And it might be hard to see in the photo - but I covered the white card base in dazzling diamonds glitter.  I totally {love} sparkle too!

Thanks for fluttering my way today ~ I'm always happy for your visits!  Now it's time to hop-a-long to Karen's blog and see what delightful creation she has for you today.  There's also a complete Hop List on the FBW Blog, should you get lost along the way.

Stamps: Silhouette Butterfly digi by Bugaboo Stamps
Ink: Printer

A Thankful Sketch

This week we have another sketch for you at the Digi Makeover Challenge by Paper Makeup Stamps.  Be sure to check out the PMS Blog for lots of inspiration by the Digi Makeup Artists.  {wink}
Now is the time of year when I need lots of Thank You cards for those Christmas presents we are enjoying.  Remember this card I made a few weeks ago?  Well, I already had a digi snowflake background created and saved from Color It Winter.  I added an enlarged "Thank You" from Thankful Essentials over it, printed and {voila!}, I have an easily reproducible image for my thank you cards.  Gotta love that!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you'll play along with our sketch challenge this week!
