Celestial Possibilities

Paper Makeup Stamps - M4TW29 Color Combo

Isn't this the most divine fairy you've ever seen? Her name is Celest and she's in the new Paper Makeup Stamps kit called Celestial Possibilities. I just love how she's reclined on the moon and reaching towards some stars. I colored her with my Prismacolor pencils and OMS (odorless mineral spirits). I like how I can layer different shades of color and blend them together with the pencils. The PMS Makeup 4 the Weekend challenge is a color combo using Buckaroo Blue, Close to Cocoa, Kiwi Kiss, Summer Sun and Perfect Plum. I took the liberty of adjusting the blue to a lighter shade to match the delightful paper from the Celestial kit and I added a silvery grey for the moon.

Here's a picture of the full card. It's 5-1/2 inches square. Other than the white cardstock and vellum, the papers and accessories are all from the Celestial Possibilities kit. I just {heart} how everything is matchy, matchy and I don't have to dig through my supplies to find things that can go together and look good.

I covered the edge of Celest's nestie shape with my silver spica glitter pen. Her wings, stars and moon are all highlighted with a clear one for some subtle sparkle there too. The kit comes with four kinds of ribbon or rick rack. I chose to use the green ribbon to mimic the one on Celest's dress.

The sentiment is from the kit too and I just love how well it goes with the thoughtful look on Celest's face. I stamped it on vellum and attached it to another pattern of the pretty paper from the kit that I cut out with a fancy tag nestie. Then two of the matching brads gave it just the right finishing touch. Again I {LOVE} how the pattern on the brad matches the patterns on both the papers. And I love the texture of the blue cardstock in the background too. {grin}

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy a day of dwelling in your possiblities too.

Butterfly Dream Notebook

Paper Makeup Stamps - M4TW28 Notebook
Flutterby Wednesday - FBW #111

I decorated a notebook for Paper Makeup Stamps weekend challenge. If you're ever looking for an inspirational quote, PMS is the place to check! {wink} This word art is from their Dream Big set. I wanted to highlight the word "dream" and I decided to make a butterfly template using my SU! die cut and then sponge a butterfly centered over that word in the quote. I {heart} how it looks in real life. My camera just doesn't do it justice, but you get the idea. The quote is embossed for texture and the border of the circle is outlined with a spica glitter pen for sparkle. Here's a full-sized pic of the notebook.

The paper that I used is from a Butterflies & Blossoms pad that I found at Michael's. It has beautiful silver embossing on the corner flourish, butterflies and polka dots. Again hard to capture with my camera. The ribbon is from May Arts.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek! :)

Blessings,

Summer Silhouettes

Splitcoaststampers - CAS68 Think Summer
Flutterby Wednesday - FBW #110 Use Flowers

When I think of summer, I think of sunshine, warm colors, flowers, butterflies, etc. I {heart} this new stamp set by Paper Makeup Stamps called Faith Hope Love. It has these amazing flower silhouettes and the word art on this card is one of the three sayings that comes with it. Such an inspiring set!

To create this simple scene, I used a circle as a mask to leave a white sun image and sponged the background with Apricot Appeal, Only Orange and Pumpkin Pie inks. Then I stamped the grass and flowers with stazon black. The butterflies are ones that flutter around Paper Makeup's Danni Fairy. I just colored them in separately, cut them out and taped them on to finish the scene.

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!

Misted Flowers

Paper Makeup Stamps - M4TW27
Don't you just love these flowers? Paper Makeup Stamps has a new set called Faith Hope Love with some beautiful flower silhouettes and word art sentiments. I chose this flower to color with markers and mist with my spritzer before stamping it on watercolor paper. I just love the mottled watercolor look this simple technique gives these flowers. I chose not to put a saying on there yet. I'll wait until I decide who to send this card to and then add a saying to fit the occasion.
Thanks for looking and have a blessed day!

Mother of All Blog Hops

There She Goes Stamps is hosting the Mother of All Blog Hops this weekend. You should have arrived from Kim Teasdale's amazing blog. If not, you'll want to start at the beginning here to make sure you don't miss out on any yummy creations or instructions for how to win prizes along the way. :)

My card features the stamp set Flowers of Happiness. I embossed three flowers and watercolored them with Groovy Guava, Baja Breeze and Creamy Caramel inks. It's hard to tell in this photo, but I cut around the bottom of the flowers on the front flap , so only the top half of the card lifts up. The sentiment is embossed below the flowers on the part that is taped to the quarter sheet of guava cardstock. Some half pearls and ribbon finish it off nicely, I think. {wink}

Your next stop on the Mother of All Blog Hops is a real treat! Time to go see what eye candy Pam Varnell has to share with you!

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!

Birthday Candy Winner

Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes and to those who joined in my first blog candy. :) I enjoyed reading about some favorite gifts given. One of my favorite memories is from when I was a small girl and our dad helped us get our mom a new nightgown. When we wrapped it, he said if we included something else inside the box to make it rattle, it would keep what the gift really was a surprise. I think we added some plastic cups to make some noise when the box shook and it was so much fun to see my mom wonder what could be inside that box and that she never suspected a nightgown with her guesses. {grin}

And now on to the winner for my blog candy. I cut strips of paper and wrote out the names for everyone in the drawing. Most of you had double-entries for linking on your blogs too. :) I asked my son to stir up the names and draw one without looking. Below is the picture of the name he pulled out.

Congrats Anita Hovey! Please email me your mailing address [mybearybest at yahoo dot com] so that I can figure out the best way to send you your goodies!

Blessings,
