Flutter By Wednesday #127

Hey everyone! It's time for Flutter By Wednesday again and this week is an open challenge. Anything goes as long as you have a Butterfly, Fairy or Angel on your creation.

Life has been full with celebrating my son's 13th birthday. We surprised him with a trip to Great Wolf Lodge and had so much family fun this weekend. His cousins, aunt and uncle were able to join us too. Then it's been back to reality with lots of school projects and homework, plus my body's dragging from a cold virus that's hit me this week. But never fear, I plan to get inky very soon and have some fluttery goodness to share with you yet. {wink}

Buggy Sayings by Paper Makeup Stamps.

And today is the last day to enter the
Makeup 4 the Weekend challenge to use vellum on your card {It's my turn to host the M4TW challenge}. If you combine that with a PMS image and link it to the PMS blog before midnight, you'll be entered in a drawing to win a single stamp of your choice. And considering, ahem, that no one not on the design team has entered yet, you have a pretty good chance of winning! {LOL} Remember there are digi stamps in the PMS store if you don't own a rubber one yet!

Moody for Computers

Today I have a couple of cards using Moody for Computers to share with you. Paper Makeup Stamps is reviewing all of the new stamps that were just released on the 7th. Be sure to visit the PMS Blog to see the other beautiful samples the Makeup Artists have made for you today. And remember the 15% discount code from the blog hop is good through the 14th! It's not too late to save some money while you go shopping! {wink}

I was inspired by
this card created by one of our Senior Makeup Artists, Shaela Odd. I love how she colored Moody for Art in monochromatic tones and added color to the background. It just makes my heart go pitter-patter! {grin}

On this first card I stamped
Moody for Computers on Gina K. Pure Luxury White cardstock and used Copic Markers N0, N2, N4, N6, N8 to color her in. The designer paper is from the Sakura Park line by Kaisercraft. I didn't have any red flowers, so I colored a white fabric flower with a red copic marker. I used one of the simple sentiments from Paper Makeup Stamps, I'm so happy you're my friend. I have so many on-line friends that I've never had the privilege of meeting in real life yet. This image just makes me think of them and how happy I am to have met them through the computer. {smile}

On my second card, I wanted to try using the same markers on vanilla cardstock instead of white. I think it gives the image a little more softer and warmer feel to it, but it's a very subtle difference. I have a few cyber friends and faraway friends who are going through hard times right now. Even though I can't be there in person and give any of them a big hug, I can check up on them and send encouraging notes through my computer. That means so much to me. With that in mind, this sentiment from
When There's Nothing Left to Say was the perfect choice.

I think using vellum shapes behind Moody for Computers and the saying gives a nice subtle shadow to them. And it fits in perfectly with the
Makeup 4 the Weekend challenge to use vellum on your projects this week! {hint, hint} I like how it looks like she's in the glow of her computer screen in the midst of all those city buildings. That fabulous paper is from Basic Grey Wander.

Thanks for stopping by today and I wish you all the beary best!

Beauty and Vellum

Makeup 4 the Weekend - M4TW45 Use Vellum

I am hosting this week's challenge for Paper Makeup Stamps and it's a fairly simple one. All you have to do is use vellum somewhere on your card - easy peasy, right? I know this time of year is crazy now that school is back in full swing {at least it's that way for me, haha} and I wanted a challenge that could go with any kind of stamp or style card.

Okay, now that I've talked about how simple and easy my challenge *should* be, I have a confession! {LOL} I totally did this card the HARD way! I didn't even realize it until I had finished and sat back to take a look at it, haha. I knew that I wanted to use the word art
Beauty is looking inside a heart shape and I wanted to emboss a vellum background. For some reason I had it in my head that I needed to cut out a heart from the vellum to frame the saying, and so I had to have it all positioned *just right*. Once I got done fussing with that step, I thought the heart would look nice framed somehow. I had to line up the two heart nesties *just right* to get that thin scallop border to attach to my heart window. THEN I looked at it and realized I could have just done a 1/4 sheet of the embossed vellum with a scallop heart on top of that and a pink heart with the saying on top of that! Isn't that funny?! It would have been sooooo much easier that way. {roll eyes}

Now how would you like to win a single stamp of your choice? Here's all you have to do:

1. Participate in the challenge
2. Use PMS images (stamped or digi)

Easy right?!! Link up your creation on the
PMS Blog by midnight on Wednesday to be included in the Thursday Showoff and to be in the drawing for some free rubbah. While you don't have to use Paper Makeup Stamps to play in the challenge, you do need to use them to be entered in the drawing. Don't forget to mention the challenge in your post, and when you upload to SCS/PCP use the keyword M4TW45 so we can see your creations there as well. Also, be sure your link is directly to your challenge card to make it easier on those of us who love to comment. {happy face}

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you all the beary best!

Feeling Icky

Welcome to the last stop on today's blog hop for Paper Makeup Stamps October Release! You should have arrived here from Christi Snow's blog. If you didn't, you'll want to start at the beginning with the PMS blog and admire all of the beautiful creations by the Makeup Artists as you hop along back to here. {wink} And be sure to leave comments along the way because one of those comments is going to win a $25 gift certificate! You have until Sunday {10/10} to get your commenting done.

My card features poor Flubu who is feeling icky. He's so icky that not only is he green, but he's covered in spots! {LOL} I love how paper piecing this little monster really brought him to life. Look at the close-up below.

I shadowed his eyes with a grey pencil to give him that "I can't sleep and I feel icky" look. I love how that paper from Basic Grey looks like a quilt that he's wrapped himself up in. I colored the thermometer with a stardust glitter pen. Flubu's horns and ice pack are paper-pieced too.

And now here is your last letter to collect for this month's 15% discount code on the new release. It's the letter "t" and it has the same green color and spots as poor Flubu! Remember the discount code is only good for one week, so get your shopping done early! {grin}

Thanks for hopping along with the Paper Makeup Artists today. We hope you will join us at the Release Party tonight in the
PMS forum. It starts at 9pm EST and there's always lots of chatter, as well as games and prizes. Until next time, I wish you all the beary best!
