Chalk Butterfly

Flutterby Wednesday is hosting an Open Challenge this week - Anything Goes as long as your creation has a butterfly or a fairy on it!

I've been going through my old stamp sets lately and have one of the first techniques I learned on my card today too - the chalkboard technique.  I stamped the solid image of the butterfly with craft white ink on black cardstock.  After I gave it a few minutes to dry, I colored over it randomly with my chalk pastels before stamping the butterfly outline over it.  Then the sentiment is stamped directly onto the organdy ribbon.

This is a great technique -- really quite simple but always gives a real WOW effect. Your card is lovely. Thanks for jogging a memory. I don't think I've used my chalks in years.
