Fall Charlotte

Sparkle Creations - Operation Write Home
Splitcoast Sketch Challenge -
SC300

I just placed my first order for a few stamps from
Sparkle Creations and I have to say how impressed I am with her rubber stamps. The rubber is so thick with the deepest etching I've ever seen on a rubber stamp. I got a crisp, clear image the first time I stamped and I just love how detailed the pictures are. I couldn't wait to get one inky and start coloring! {grin}

This is also the first of many cards that I hope to make for
Operation Write Home. My brother is a soldier who has been deployed many times and I know how much it means to them to have hand-made cards that they can send to their loved ones back home. Sparkle issued a challenge to make a fall-themed card for OWH, so I chose to ink up Fall Charlotte first.

I embossed Charlotte on watercolor paper and used ink and an aquapainter to color her in. The paper is from the Basic Grey Pyrus collection. I used Sketch #300 from the Splicoast Challenges for my layout. You have to check out the celebration they're having this week for their 300th sketch and all the prizes being offered! {so fun!}

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you all the beary best!

You Make Life Sparkle

Flutterby Wednesday - FBW #124 Lots of Sparkle
Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge -
MTSC93
Paper Sundae Challenge - PSC37 Things with Wings
Creative Cottage Challenge - #24 Bling it On
Crazy4Challenges - C4C56 Bling

This week we want you to use lots of sparkle with your butterfly, fairy or angel at Flutterby Wednesday! I just had to use the
Shaela Fairy with her "You make life sparkle" sentiment from Paper Makeup Stamps for this challenge. She was colored with copics and then covered with lots of sparkle. Her wings and sparkler have stickles over them and her hair, dress and shoes are highlighted with a clear spica glitter pen. You can see the sparkle better in the close-up photo below, especially if you click on it to enlarge it.

The colored papers are from Paper Temptress and they also shimmer: Lunar Blue Pearlescent, Mountain Rose Glimmer and Noir Sparkle. Then of course, you need gems if you have a sparkly card, right? {grin}

Thanks for fluttering by!

Flutterby Wednesday #123

Flutterby Wednesday - FBW123 Totally Open Challenge for ALL Winged Things
Splitcoast Clean and Simple - CAS85 Fall Colors Red, Vanilla, Kraft, Brown

This week's Flutterby Wednesday challenge is one of my favorites yet! This week, and this week ONLY, it is open to ALL winged things instead of being limited to fairies, butterflies and angels. Break out those ladybugs, bumblebees, birds, dragonflies, lightning bugs, etc. and get inky with us! {grin}

For today's card I used an image from one of my new Ippity sets called Totally Happy. The sentiment is from another Ippity set called Just Wanted to Say. I decided to try to make a Clean and Simple card using this week's challenge for fall colors from Splitcoast. I inked up the fence/bird stamp with Crumb Cake ink (previsouly known as Kraft). Then I used markers to outline the fence and add some red to the bird before stamping the image on my vanilla cardstock.

The picture is cut out with a Labels Eleven Nestie and outlined with a Lipstick Red spica glitter pen. I added some texture in the background with a cuttlebug folder called Floral Screen and popped up the bird & fence on some dimensional tape. {ta-da!} And I couldn't resist adding just a few brown pearls in the corner. {wink}

Thanks for fluttering by and I hope you have an inky day!

Stamps: Totally Happy and Just Wanted to Say from Ippity Stamps
Paper: Very Vanilla, Ruby Red
Ink: Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip
Markers: Chocolate Chip, Cherry Cobbler, Real Red

For my card I was totally inspired by the little bumblebees on this Dear Lizzy designer paper. I pulled out my Buggy Sayings set and used this week's sketch from Splitcoaststampers. It's hard to tell in the photo, but the bee's wings are coated with stickles and all the little wings are coated with clear spica glitter pen. :)

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you all the beary best!

Flutterby Wednesday is being sponsored by Susana's Custom Art and Card Design and I have used an image from a new release of Animapeeps called Binkies Rule! by Elisabeth Bell. The saying is from the Susanaments set at SCACD and I think it goes well with this cute little squirrel. {grin} I used a new border punch called Butterfly Chain and covered it with a pink spica glitter pen for some sparkle.

Secret Admirer

Just for fun some of the Makeup Artists on the Paper Makeup Stamps Design team participated in a Secret Admirer swap. Look at what arrived in my package from my Secret Admirer - {Randee}! She totally picked up on my love for music and birdhouses. {True confession time - the box of chocolates is empty and taped back together for the photo, hahahaha}

Here's a close up of her gorgeous birdhouse card. I just love the different colored birdhouses and the shading around the flowers in the background. That ribbon is pleated so beautifully too! {sigh}

Now look at this AMAZING birdhouse she decorated for me! I love how she stamped on the paper before sticking it on. And aren't that knob and metal plaque FABULOUS?! Here are a couple more photos from different angles.

I'm hoping Randee gets her tutorial posted for how to make a birdhouse like this SOON! {wink}

Thanks for the delighful package, Randee! I totally {heart} everything about it!

Blessings,

Hello Pinwheel!

Hello! {waving} Welcome to your first stop on Paper Makeup Stamps September Release Blog Hop! My card today features the Pinwheel image that complements the pinwheel-blowing Kat Fairy. I used the cuttlebug candy cane stripe embossing folder on the panels of colored paper. The "Hello!" sentiment is from this month's Little Moments set. For the pinwheel itself, I stamped and colored it three times so I could cut out and layer it for more dimension. Here is a close-up of that.

I added stickles to the green sections for some sparkle and outlined the entire pinwheel in yellow to help frame it on the card. I was so excited to find that tiny button in my collection to help finish off the center of it. {grin}

Here is your first letter towards your discount code for this month's release. We hope you'll join us tonight at the PMS forum for some fun games and chatter at our Release Party. There will be a couple challenges that you can play along with this week too. {yay!} And now it's time to hop to Andrea's blog and see what fantastic feat of Crafty Engineering she has for you today!

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you all the beary best!

Danni's Birthday Blog Hop

Today is our fluttery leader's birthday - Happy Birthday Danni! The Flutterby Wednesday Design Team wanted to start her special day off with a Surprise Birthday Blog Hop. Danni is the biggest cheerleader for our team ~ always encouraging with a kind word. And she's a stamping dynamo ~ have you seen how many fabulous cards she posts on her blog every week? And I totally {heart} how she takes the time to explain anything new she tries on her creations which inspires me to try something new too! Thanks Danni for being a fun and caring leader - I love your Flutterby Wednesday Challenge and I'm so happy and honored to be part of your team. {mwah!}

Anyone who follows Danni's work knows that some of her favorite things are butterflies, the color pink and sparkle, so I made sure my birthday card for her has all three! {grin} The paper is from the DCWV Butterflies and Blossoms pack. The plaid one already has glittery stripes running through it. The polka dot one that I used for the butterfly die-cut is all edged with stickles, b/c the butterfly just had to sparkle too, KWIM?

Here is the rest of the line-up for Danni's Birthday Blog Hop. When you're finished hopping be sure to stop by the
birthday girl's blog too and wish her the happiest of birthdays.

Thanks for fluttering by and celebrating Danni's Birthday with us. And Danni, may all your dreams come true!

What an incredible sponsor list, right?! Be sure to go here to read all the details on how to participate in this week's challenge and get a chance to win that HUGE Birthday Blowout Giveaway. Now onto my card...

This week's challenge {FBW120} is to use a sketch provided by Mercy Kerin to make a birthday card with a butterfly, fairy or angel on it. I just got the neatest flower stamp ever by Ippity from their The Simple Things set - it's like a dandelion made up of butterflies! Isn't that fun?! I colored it with markers to stamp it multi-colored and then covered it with a clear spica pen for sparkle. I even got a close-up pic to show some of the shimmer {yay!}

The sentiment and that very faint burlap pattern for the ground are Ippity stamps too. Then those pretty Echo Park papers are in their Summer 2010 collection.

Thanks for fluttering by today and I hope to see your creation at Flutterby Wednesday this week too. {BIG smile}
